This week I have gotten very far with my World Cup sculpture. I'm beginning to feel very comfortable with clay and understand how to manipulate it the way I want. The piece is really starting to resemble the real trophy and I'm very pleased. I've just added the two overhanging ledges on the left and right also. Next week I should be pretty close to finishing and being ready to paint and fire it.
I'm Chris and I am a student in 10th grade. This blog is for my art that I create in my Advanced Computer Graphics class. The main purpose for me is really to see my art improve throughout my high school career. So thank you for visiting and please enjoy.

Progress: World Cup Sculpture
Progress: World Cup Sculpture
This week I've made great progress on my World Cup sculpture. I feel like things are begining to take the shape of what I have in my mind. Also I've gotten a lot more comfortable with working with clay than I was when I started this project. I'm very excited to see my finished peice but that's still a ways away. For now I'm still working on somewhat replicating the basic form of the actual trophy.

World Cup Sculpture
World Cup Sculpture
This week I've started my World Cup sculpture. Even from the first couple of days I can tell that it's going to be harder than I thought. At the same time I can't wait to get into it and really challenge myself. I've never really done much sculpture before so it'll be interesting to see how it goes. In the end I hope that it at least looks somewhat like my goal.

Progress
This week I have been working on more of the plans for the mythological creature house. It's beginning to seem a little more difficult than I expected. Understanding how everything will fit together is a real challenge. I just need to continue putting it all together piece by piece. I believe that I am capable of this but if will just take some time.
